PROFESSIONAL VALUATION

Know what a buyer
would actually pay.

A number from an online calculator is a guess. We value the company the way a buyer will: cash flow, comparable sales, assets, and the risks that change the multiple.

STEP 1 · PURPOSE

Why do you need a number?

Confidential. We never sell your data.

A+ BBB Rating 80+ businesses guided $250M+ exit value realized
WHY THE NUMBER MATTERS

Price the company before a buyer does it for you.

Owners who guess high waste a year on the market. Owners who guess low leave money on the table. A professional valuation is the baseline for a sale, a partner buyout, estate planning, or a decision to wait and build value first.

We do not stop at a single figure. You get the methods, the comparables, and the specific drivers — owner dependence, customer concentration, add-backs, growth — that move the range.

A GUESS
A multiple off the internet

One industry average applied to last year’s profit. It ignores concentration, the owner’s hours, and what similar companies actually cleared.

A VALUATION
A range a buyer can test

Income, market, and asset views, reconciled. You can defend the number in a partner meeting or walk into a sale knowing where diligence will push.

The report is also a roadmap. If the number is held down by owner dependence or a thin pipeline, that work feeds straight into the AI Exit Engine or a full M&A engagement. The valuation fee is credited if you later list with Co. Buy Sell.

HOW WE VALUE

Four lenses. One conclusion.

No single method is the business. We use the ones that fit, then reconcile them so the conclusion holds up.

Income

Cash flow, normalized earnings, and what the company can keep producing. We separate owner perks and one-time items from profit a buyer can underwrite.

Market

What comparable private companies actually sold for — not a public-company multiple pasted onto a Main Street P&L. Industry, size, and deal structure matter.

Assets

Tangible assets at fair value, plus the intangibles that show up in a sale: customer relationships, contracts, location, and reputation that belongs to the company.

Industry multipliers

Sector metrics applied to your numbers — revenue, EBITDA, or units — then adjusted for concentration, growth, and how replaceable the owner is.

What to expect

A scoped engagement. Not a 40-page template with your name on the cover.

01

Consultation

Why you need the number, the decision it has to support, and whether a full report is the right product — or a faster scorecard is enough.

02

Documents

Typically three to five years of financials and tax returns, a current balance sheet, customer and vendor concentration, and who actually runs the business day to day.

03

Analysis

Normalized earnings, market conditions, growth, and the risks that change price: key-person dependence, customer concentration, and how clean the books are.

04

Report and review

A written conclusion: methods, comparables, the value range, and the levers that would move it. We walk through it live and answer the questions a partner, lender, or buyer would ask.

OPERATORS, NOT THEORISTS

We have personally built and sold multiple seven-figure businesses.

Co-founders Matthew Clark and David Hockley built Elite Investment Group in Shanghai. In November 2013, Elite was acquired by deVere Group. Since then we have guided 80+ businesses and realized more than $250M in exit value. The valuation is written by people who have sat on both sides of a sale.

Questions owners ask first

A valuation summary, the methods used and why, an industry and market view, the financial analysis, the drivers that move value, and the conclusion. Supporting detail sits in the appendix so a advisor, partner, or buyer can follow the math.
Income (what the cash flow is worth), market (what similar companies sold for), and asset (what the balance sheet is worth at fair value). We use the combination that fits the business, not a single canned multiple.
When the facts call for it. A minority stake can take a lack-of-control discount. An interest that is hard to sell can take a marketability discount. Size, a buy-sell agreement, and customer concentration can move the range too. We explain each adjustment instead of burying it.
Start with the last three years of tax returns. We will ask for financial statements, a buy-sell agreement if you have one, and a short set of questions on customers, owner hours, and how the business actually runs. Nothing moves until we agree on scope.
No. A valuation is a decision tool. You can stop there. If you later engage Co. Buy Sell to sell the company, the valuation fee is credited against that engagement.
That is useful. The report names the leaks — usually owner hours, customer concentration, or a pipeline that is still you. Those are the items we sequence before you ask a buyer to pay up.
